Helen Browning’s Organic
– that’s the name on the organic bacon,
hot dogs and speedy sausages
you’ll find in Sainsbury’s,
Ocado’s online supermarket,
and some Budgens stores.

The packs are dominated by our large orange pig logo; once you’ve opened the pack, the dominating sensation will be flavour, with all the hard work that’s gone into producing a great pig being reflected in a product that feels and tastes good when you eat it..
We’d love to hear what you think of our products.
We work this beautiful place for the benefit of our livestock, improving the environment and landscape, and hopefully creating interesting, fun and satisfying jobs at the same time. And we produce organic food from all this.
We are here for the long term. The land is owned by the Church Commissioners, and the Browning family have been tenants since 1950, since when the farm has grown slightly to about 1,400 organic acres across the north Wiltshire Downs, right on the Oxfordshire and Berkshire borders. Helen Browning has run the place since 1986, when she started to move it towards organic status.
This is a pub that serves excellent local real ales; sometimes world class food and almost always good food; that employs wholly local people, who welcome you into the place as if it’s your, or their,
front room.
At the right time of year there’s a proper fire; and there’s always newspapers, magazines, books to borrow. Superb coffees, nice teas, unusual and often organic soft drinks from Belvoir, Frobisher’s, Crabbies. Not a J2O in the house. Unfortunately it is a difficult pub to access for disabled users, but our staff are willing to assist wherever possible and suitable. Call ahead and ask us, if you can.
